Examined interaction of gender role orientation, sex of counselor, and education as these variables related to preference for type of counseling response. Findings from 87 master's level counseling students revealed that sex, gender-role orientation, and level of education of counseling students significantly affected their preference for interpretive, supportive, evaluative, understanding, and probing counseling responses.
