Parricide Rates and Criminal Street Violence in the United States: Is There a Correlation?
Young, Thomas J.
Adolescence, v28 n109 p171-72 Spr 1993
Analysis of secondary data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation revealed that parricide (killing of one's father or mother) rates from 1977 to 1988 in the United States correlated negatively with rates for violent crime, supporting Megargee's hypothesis that factors affecting violent street crimes do not similarly affect intrafamilial violence.
