Children's Recall and Recognition Memory for Typical and Atypical Actions in Script-Based Stories.
Davidson, Denise; Hoe, Sony
Journal of Experimental Child Psychology, v55 n1 p104-26 Feb 1993
A study of preschoolers' and first graders' immediate and next-day recall and recognition of sentences in stories supported the hypothesis that implausible, atypical actions are better remembered than plausible, atypical actions. Children's judgment of the typicality, situational implausibility, and general implausibility of the sentences was tested separately. (ME)
