Easing the Special Education Teacher Shortage: Are Emergency Permits the Answer?
Gunderson, Katherine L.; Karage, Belinda Dunnick
Teacher Education Quarterly, v19 n3 p79-90 Sum 1992
A study examined personal and professional characteristics of California emergency certified special educators, noting self-perceived teacher effectiveness and sources of professional support. Survey results indicated self-ratings of effectiveness scores were fairly high and unrelated to support. The main sources of support were on-site special educators, university professors, and university course content. (SM)
