Relationship between Psychosocial Functioning and Body Fat in Preschool Children: A Longitudinal Investigation.
Klesges, Robert C.; And Others
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, v60 n5 p793-96 Oct 1992
Examined whether 132 preschool children who varied in levels of body fat differed on psychosocial functioning. Children did not differ in self-esteem and family functioning as function of body fat. Prospectively, physical self-esteem weakly but significantly correlated with body fat at one and two years; father's perception of family functioning predicted body fat at one year only. (Author/NB)
