The Role of Learning/Study Skills in "Re-Inventing" Secondary Schools.
Marshak, David
NASSP Bulletin, v76 n547 p95-101 Nov 1992
The report "Workplace Basics: the Skills Employers Want" was based on interviews with hundreds of employers, who identified seven groups of desirable skills: reading, writing, and computation; listening and speaking; learning to learn, problem-solving and creative thinking; personal management; teamwork; and leadership and organizational effectiveness. Child-centered, developmentally based education would impart most of these skills. (MLH)
