Defining and Redefining Instructional Practice in Special Education: Perspectives on Good Teaching.
Englert, Carol Sue; And Others
Teacher Education and Special Education, v15 n2 p62-86 Spr 1992
This paper reviews the process-product literature on effective teaching and suggests a conceptual framework focusing on teacher behaviors associated with development of higher-order thinking and problem-solving abilities. These behaviors involve, among others, embedding instruction in meaningful and purposive activities and promoting classroom dialogue for self-regulated learning. (Author/JDD)
