Analyzes findings of a study comparing self-appraisals of 36 elementary school principals' managerial performance with their teaching staffs' appraisals of these principals' performance. Findings showed considerable agreement between headteachers' and teachers' perceptions concerning managerial priorities, but significant differences between performance evaluations in two groups of schools. Staff participation in headteacher performance review is helpful. (11 references) (MLH)
