Sociodemographic Factors, Functioning Style, Social Support, and Fathers' Involvement with Preschoolers in African-American Families.
Ahmeduzzaman, Mohammad
Journal of Marriage and the Family, v54 n3 p699-707 Aug 1992
Assessed sociodemographic variables, fathers' functional style, social support, and fathers' involvement in caregiving of preschoolers in African-American families. Fathers spent about one-third as much time as mothers in primary caregiving, and fathers' educational level, family income, communication, extrafamilial support, and length of time married were chief variables associated with different dimensions of men's involvement with children.
