The Effects of Socioeconomic Heterogamy and Changes on Marital Dissolution for First Marriages.
Tzeng, Meei-Shenn
Journal of Marriage and the Family, v54 n3 p609-19 Aug 1992
Used data from National Longitudinal Surveys to investigate patterns and determinants of marital dissolution for first marriages. Found that risk of marital instability was highest among couples with heterogamous education and nontraditional employment patterns. Couples who equalized their original education and conventionalized employment status enjoyed higher marital stability. (Author/NB)
