Clinically Significant Change: Jacobson and Truax (1991) Revisited.
Speer, David C.
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, v60 n3 p402-08 Jun 1992
Considers relationship between statistically and clinically significant change. Sees Jacobson and Truax's index of clinically significant change as neglecting possible confounding of improvement rate estimates by regression to the mean. Describes alternative method (Edwards-Nunnally method) that incorporates an adjustment that minimizes this confounding when statistical regression has been shown to be present. Compares two methods.
