Methylphenidate and Attributions in Boys with Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder.
Pelham, William E.; And Others
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, v60 n2 p282-92 Apr 1992
Conducted two experiments in which attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder boys underwent double-blind, placebo-controlled medication assessment in summer day-treatment program. Daily, boys assessed attributions for and evaluations of their behavior. Objective measured showed improved behavior with methylphenidate; however, boys tended to attribute performance to effort rather than to medication, particularly when medicated. (Author/NB)
