Systematic Modeling versus the Learning Cycle: Comparative Effects of Integrated Science Process Skill Achievement.
Norman, John T.
Journal of Research in Science Teaching, v29 n7 p715-27 Sep 1992
Reports effectiveness of modeling as teaching strategy on learning science process skills. Teachers of urban sixth through ninth grade students were taught modeling techniques; two sets of teachers served as controls. Results indicate students taught by teachers employing modeling instruction exhibited significantly higher competence in process skills. Concrete-operational students did not make gains equivalent to those beyond concrete stage. (PR)
