Lynch, Michael P.; And Others
Journal of Speech and Hearing Research, v35 n2 p443-49 Apr 1992
The ability of an adult with profound hearing impairment to integrate speech information from touch, aided hearing, and speechreading in identification of open-set words was investigated. Results indicated that the subject integrated speech information across modalities, with highest performance in the condition including speechreading plus aided hearing plus either electrocutaneous vocoder or vibrotactile aid.
