Compared academically successful and unsuccessful Mexican-American migrant high school students (n=151) on acculturation, urbanization, and socioeconomic status. Unsuccessful students came from larger, poorer, more rural, and more "foreign" families than successful students. Successful students scored higher on modernism, were more stably acculturated, had clearer sense of themselves, had higher occupational aspirations, and desired stable, responsible jobs. (Author/NB)
