Nonequivalent Associations between Forms of Cohesiveness and Group-Related Outcomes: Evidence for Multidimensionality.
Zaccaro, Stephen J.
Journal of Social Psychology, v131 n3 p387-99 Jun 1991
Presents results of a study contrasting different forms of group cohesiveness in a student military organization. Reports that task cohesiveness was more strongly associated with lower role uncertainty, higher individual performance, and lower absenteeism than was interpersonal cohesiveness. Concludes that data provide evidence for a multidimensional rather than a unitary perspective of group cohesiveness. (DK)
