Career classes offer career planning help to college students. Individuals with personal-emotional barriers to decision making may not benefit from standard, information-oriented versions of such classes. Proposes assessment and treatment of possible contributors to career problems, describes three diagnostic instruments suited to counseling practice, and offers strategies for incorporating assessment information into practice in career classes.
