Occupational Structure and Men's and Women's Parental Values.
Spade, Joan Z.
Journal of Family Issues, v12 n3 p343-60 Sep 1991
Examined values that husbands and wives hold for children in dual-worker families. Findings from 186 dual-worker families revealed that persons with higher levels of occupational status, education, and occupational self-direction were more likely to value self-direction for children. Women, although lower in occupational status, education, income, and occupational self-direction, were more likely to value self-direction for children. (Author/NB)
