Talking about Lesson Planning: The Use of Semi-Structured Interviews in Teacher Education.
Tyson, Pamela
Teacher Education Quarterly, v18 n3 p87-96 Sum 1991
Semistructured interviews may help in assessing teacher knowledge. Stanford University's Teacher Assessment Project (TAP) distinguished exemplary teachers by incorporating semistructured interviews into assessment center exercises. The paper describes TAP's elementary mathematics lesson planning exercise, noting ways that experienced teacher responses can be valuable in educating preservice and interservice teachers. (SM)
