Do Parents of Gifted Students Emphasize Sex Role Orientations for Their Sons and Daughters?

Parents of 107 gifted students (grades K-12) enrolled in gifted education programs were questioned about sex role orientations. Results did not support the premise that parents reinforce different sex role orientations for daughters than for sons. Parents tended to value their child's fitting in socially with children in their age group. (DB)
