Psychosocial Vulnerability, Life Stress, and Suicide Ideation in a Jail Population: A Cross-Validation Study.
Bonner, Ronald L.; Rich, Alexander R.
Suicide and Life-Threatening Behavior, v20 n3 p213-24 Fall 1990
Attempted to cross-validate stress-psychosocial vulnerability model of suicidal ideation and behavior in prisoners (n=146). Results indicated over one-half of variance in suicidal ideation could be accounted for by linear combination of low reasons for living, irrational beliefs, jail stress, and loneliness. Interactions between psychosocial vulnerability factors and jail stress were found to best explain suicide intent. (Author/ABL)
