A survey of 594 undergraduates in a small university found that nontraditional students viewed personality and interaction behaviors as indicative of effective teaching, whereas traditional students focused on behaviors that could enhance grades. Implications for techniques and approaches addressing the needs of both student types are discussed. (Author/MSE)
