The Relationship between Study-Abroad Student Expectations and Selected Student Characteristics.
Martin, Judith N.; Rohrlich, Beulah
Journal of College Student Development, v32 n1 p39-46 Jan 1991
Investigated relationship between college student concerns before leaving for study abroad and three sets of student characteristics. Data from 482 predeparture questionnaires revealed concerns focused on housing, money, and extracurricular travel. Findings indicated that sojourner characteristics that seemed to influence predeparture concerns most consistently were sex, prior transitional experiences, and destination of study abroad.
