To restructure schooling and emphasize creative definition and redefinition of problems, teachers need to allow students more responsibility for choosing and solving problems. Problems requiring insightful solution are almost always ill structured, whereas school-posed problems lead to prescribed answers. Creative persons learn to tolerate ambiguity, take risks, and excel despite mistakes. (12 references) (MLH)
