Analysis of pharmacy faculty recruitment and retention experiences at the University of Pittsburgh and a review of faculty trends in general suggest that opportunity for professional growth, proximity to family, and salary are the keys to successful recruitment efforts. Long-range, comprehensive planning, beginning with student recruitment, is advocated. (MSE)
