Reforming Adult Continuing Education.
Caldwell, Peter
Journal of Education Policy, v5 n4 p373-80 1990
Although adult continuing education (ACE) has been termed the "poor cousin" of the educational system, Britain's Education Reform Act (1988) is changing that. This paper highlights three trends: a decline in traditional ACE, the rise of vocationalism, and shifting local/center relations. Would-be reformers must plan in an increasingly turbulent market place. Includes 14 references. (MLH)
