Use of Mental Health Services among Victims of Crime: Frequency, Correlates, and Subsequent Recovery.
Norris, Fran H.; And Others
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, v58 n5 p538-47 Oct 1990
Found that 12 percent of 392 victims of crime had contact with mental health professionals within few months postcrime. Mental health service use was most prevalent when depressive symptoms were present and crime involved violence. Among victims of violence, urban residence, high social support, internal locus of control, and prior crime experience were associated with use. (Author/NB)
