Investigated effects of family economic stress on parental support and adolescent maladjustment in ninth through twelfth graders (n=622). Determined economic stress had a direct effect on adolescent depressive symptoms, delinquency, and drug use. Increased stress was associated with lower paternal support for female adolescents and lower paternal support for females was associated with higher female distress. (Author/ABL)
