Paths of Professional Development: Contrived Collegiality, Collaborative Culture, and the Case of Peer Coaching.
Hargreaves, Andy; Dawe, Ruth
Teaching and Teacher Education, v6 n3 p227-41 1990
The differences between collaborative culture and contrived collegiality as forms of joint work and interaction among teachers is defined. Peer coaching, especially one variant known as technical coaching, is used to investigate and interpret these differences. Technical coaching is seen as fostering contrived collegiality rather than collaborative culture. (JD)
