Examines the test results from the French Administration of Evaluation and Long-term Planning to determine which subject has the greatest impact on channeling students into academic, technical, or vocational programs. Finds that French, English, and mathematics have greater influence on the teacher recommendations for future progress, but that English has the greatest impact. (SLM)
