The Role of Racial Identity in Black Students' Attitudes toward Counseling and Counseling Centers.
Austin, N. Lavada; And Others
Journal of College Student Development, v31 n3 p237-44 May 1990
Explored whether racial identity attitudes of 166 Black college students were predictive of their attitudes toward counseling and counseling centers. Found that racial identity attitudes significantly predicted four of five counseling attitudes. Discusses implications of findings suggesting that underutilization of counseling services by Black students is a complex issue and makes recommendations for future research. (Author/PVV)
