Determined competencies (knowledge, therapeutic skills, and administrative duties) expected of master's level counselors employed in substance abuse centers and evaluated counselors' performance. Surveyed executives and clinical directors (N=169) of substance abuse centers. Results suggested persons were extremely favorable in their views of counselors' competencies. (Author/ABL)
