Compared effects of gender and sex role on perceived suitability by college students (N=605) of hypothetical job applicants for sex-typed jobs. Found no main effect resulting from job sex-type, sex role of applicants, or gender. Found for specific applicant-job pairings a complementarity of gender and sex role was evident. (Author/ABL)
