Examined bereavement and health among adults. Used national survey data to explore reports of health status from adults who had and had not experienced familial deaths within previous five years. Younger and older adults provided comparatively little evidence of bereavement affecting health. Middle-aged adults were most adversely affected, specifically for loss of spouse, sibling, or sibling-in-law. (Author/NB)
