Apartheid, the University, and Change in South Africa.
James, Wilmot G.
Academe, v76 n3 p20-23 May-Jun 1990
South Africa's university system is differentiated along racial and state-defined ethnic lines, and grossly unequal in resource allocation. Although educators agree private and public effort should and can be devoted to developing alternatives to race-based education, little can be accomplished until the question of state policy is resolved.
