Career Compromise: An Alternative Account to Gottfredson's Theory.
Hesketh, Beryl; And Others
Journal of Counseling Psychology, v37 n1 p49-56 Jan 1990
Studied 73 career-dissatisfied adults and 90 high school students to test 2 competing theories of career compromise. Failed to support predictions that sex type is more important than prestige and prestige more important than interests in career-related decisions. Supported postulation that interests are more important because they incorporate both sex type and prestige. Outlines suggestions for career programs. (Author/PVV)
