Variation in Special Education Classification across School Districts: How Does Where You Live Affect What You Are Labeled?
Singer, Judith D.; And Others
American Educational Research Journal, v26 n2 p261-81 Sum 1989
Using information collected from the parents and teachers of 829 special education elementary school students, the classification practices of five major metropolitan school districts were compared. Many special education students would have been classified consistently within and across districts. Inconsistencies were most likely for children with multiple handicaps. (SLD)
