Describes British Careers Service designed to help secondary school students in their career development. Explains roles of careers teachers and careers officers in British system and lists eight advantages of this approach that should be considered by North American counselors. Concludes that, in spite of some weaknesses, the British service provides solid link between school and work. (NB)
