Self-Reported Hostility as a Function of Offense Characteristics and Response Style in a Sexual Offender Population.
Hall, Gordon C. Nagayana
Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology, v57 n2 p306-08 Apr 1989
Examined Buss-Durkee Hostility Inventory (BDHI), Hostility Toward Women Scale (HTWS), and Minnesota Multiphasic Personality Inventory (MMPI) Social Desirability and Defensiveness scales in 239 sexual offenders. Offenders against adolescents and adults had higher BDHI scores than offenders against children. MMPI Defensiveness scale accounted for more of shared variance in self-reported hostility than did victim maturity or level of force. (Author/NB)
