Hypersegregation in U.S. Metropolitan Areas: Black and Hispanic Segregation along Five Dimensions.
Massey, Douglas S.; Denton, Nancy A.
Demography, v26 n3 p373-91 Aug 1989
Compares Blacks with Hispanics on five dimensions of segregation--evenness, exposure, clustering, centralization, and concentration--in order to show that Blacks occupy a unique and distinctly disadvantaged position in the U.S. urban environment. Finds that Blacks experience extreme segregation on all dimensions, a pattern called hypersegregation. (JS)
