Interviewees' Perceptions of Communication Barriers in the Interview Process.
Golen, Steven; Lynch, David
Delta Pi Epsilon Journal, v31 n4 p150-61 Fall 1989
After interviewing at a university career center, 268 business seniors rated 28 communication barriers. When results were compared with a similar study of interviewers, tendency not to listen was ranked most serious by both groups. Other factors noted by interviewees were jumping to conclusions, lack of company knowledge, inability to understand nonverbal communication, overly competitive attitude, and physical distance. (SK)
