Examined self-esteem, maternal employment, and work-family plans in relation to sex role orientations of 387 male and female late adolescents. Found future work-family plans closely tied to sex role orientations for both genders. Sons, but not daughters, of women in high-status occupations were reluctant to become involved in two-career family with children. (Author/NB)
