Race Relations and the Implications of Education within Prison.
Pass, Michael G.
Journal of Offender Counseling, Services & Rehabilitation, v12 n2 p145-51 Spr-Sum 1988
Explored potential implications of race relation education within prison. Examined effect of inmates' educational background on general atmosphere of prison. Results indicated inverse relationship between education and the need for social distance; as education increased, need for social distance decreased. Suggests that academic programs in prison may reduce desire and expression of social distance. (Author/BH)
