A volunteer program's worth affects volunteers themselves, the leisure service agency, and the community. Four major activities which recognize volunteer worth are discussed--keeping good records, thanking volunteers and recognizing them formally, providing feedback to volunteers, and developing cost-effectiveness analysis.
