A study of 120 physical educators in selected Nigerian secondary schools indicated that of the four roles examined (teaching, coaching and administration, research and development, student welfare), coaching and administration was the most performed, and characterized by the least role deficit (difference between role-perception and performance). The test instrument is included. (IAH)
