Subjective Well-Being among the Rural Elderly Population.
Meddin, Jay; Vaux, Alan
International Journal of Aging and Human Development, v27 n3 p193-206 1988
Investigated relationship between psychosocial factors and subjective well-being among rural elderly persons (N=100). Results clearly indicated relationship between well-being and various psychosocial variables. Mastery, low self-denigration, perceived health problems, negative life events, and (less strongly) perceived support emerged as psychosocial variables most consistently related to subjective well-being.
