Conducted three studies in which parents and teachers of preschool children completed evaluations of child temperament. Developed parent-teacher agreement index which correlated with variety of teacher and parent ratings over several samples. Revealed consistent pattern in which the more parent-teacher agreement on child temperament, the more likely child was nonproblem, socially adaptable, confident, and academically skillful.
