Examines literature on the relationship among old age, rehabilitation, and related research to identify sources of problems in the optimal rehabilitation of elderly persons. Explores implications of rehabilitation for increased well-being of older persons. Concludes rehabilitation is undoubtedly beneficial for older persons and suggests new directions for research.
