Perceived Importance of Counselor Characteristics among Vocational Rehabilitation Counselors and Clients.
Tucker, Carolyn M.; And Others
Journal of Applied Rehabilitation Counseling, v19 n3 p28-31 Fall 1988
Vocational rehabilitation counselors (n=187) and clients (n=122) were surveyed to identify counselor characteristics, knowledge, attitudes, and skills perceived as most important. Counselors valued task-oriented behaviors more than clients. Female counselors and clients stressed the importance of caring, encouraging, and supporting more than male counselors. Differences among races were also found. (Author/JDD)
