Pupil Assessment Perceptions and Practices of Secondary Teachers.

Examination of 13 secondary school physical education teachers' choices and uses of certain pupil assessment methods demonstrated a range of 90 specific assessment practices, of which 16 percent involved preassessment, 30 percent formative assessment, and 54 percent summative assessment. Teachers' assessment practices were influenced by the effort and improvement of their students. Teachers also individualized their assessments. (Author/CB)
